This Purple Robe is actually coming along rather nicely. This is my very first attempt at turning an actual robe into a Robe a la Anglaise or Polonaise, as well. I started with a regular thrift store robe:
And I started by cutting the seams along the sides, under the arms. Then I trimmed fabric off the long sleeves, length wise and width wise. Next I am going to sew the sleeves together as a rough size, just to hold the fabric together (then I'll go back and take off some more). The I will sew the armpit seams together. There is still so much more to come, and the fabric is very odd, but I hope it will come out nicely :).
